The principle of BI(G)MED therapeutics
The key principle of the BI(G)MED therapeutic approach is regulation.
Whether of infectious, genetic, metabolic, or environmental origin, most diseases result in a disruption of cellular function.
Cells no longer produce, at the right time and in the right amounts, the proteins necessary for their proper functioning. Gene expression is disrupted, whether at the level of transcription (DNA -> RNA) or translation (RNA -> protein).
BI(G)MED aims to provide cells with the information they need to once again synthesize proteins optimally.
To achieve this, it relies on molecules naturally present in cells, which act as true regulators of gene expression. These are regulatory non-coding RNAs.
These molecules are present in cells at extremely low concentrations. With a biomimetic approach and with a view to the body’s ecology, BI(G)MED uses these non-coding RNAs in ultra-low doses.
